Site and foundation

Built around living trees—not simply beside them.

The project began with site layout, concrete footings, embedded post bases, and heavy round posts positioned around the existing palms.

Backyard before construction — The original yard and mature trees established the constraints.

Footing layout — Footing locations and post bases were set before framing.

Elevated platform framing — The main platform was framed with heavy beams and diagonal bracing.

Structure and bridge

A real structure with a playful purpose.

Walls, roof framing, decking, and enclosure were integrated around the palms. A suspension-style bridge connects the main house to a second platform built around another mature tree.

Tree house roof framing — The enclosed structure took shape around the live trees.

Secondary platform around tree — The second platform was formed around a mature tree.

Suspension bridge leading to tree house — The bridge connects both elevated structures through the canopy.

Hand-built features

The details make it an adventure.

Hand-tied rope-net railings, a climbing wall, slide, swing rope, interior access hatch, and custom openings turn the structure into an active backyard destination.

Crossing the bridge changes the way the project feels.
